5th Conference on Asian Studies – Registration, Conference Fees & Panel Overview

Biennial Conference of the German Association for Asian Studies

9–11 September 2025, Bonn

The 5th Conference on Asian Studies will take place in Bonn from 9 to 11 September 2025. With over 20 panels, this conference will, as in previous years, provide the framework for an interdisciplinary exchange between Asia researchers working on Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan and Vietnam, among others.

Registration and Conference Fees

To register for the conference, please send an e-mail with the following information to 2025@dga-conference.de:

• Your full name
• Your institutional affiliation
• The address you would like to appear on the receipt
• if you are a DGA member

Upon receipt of your e-mail, you will receive the bank account details to which the conference fee (see table below) is to be transferred.

Please note:

• After 31 July 2025, the conference fee will increase by 15 euros.
• If you would like to take advantage of a reduced conference fee, please enclose a current proof of enrolment with your registration.

Venue

The conference venue is located in the main building of the University of Bonn at Regina-Pacis-Weg 3.

The conference will take place exclusively in presence. In addition, the DGA or the University of Bonn will not be able to subsidise travel expenses.

The conference begins on Tuesday, 9 September, at 14:00 and ends on Thursday, 11 September, also at 14:00.
