The Center for Asian Studies at University of Montréal and its Student Association are pleased to announce their first student colloquium : « Perspective de transversalité en Asie » („Cross-cutting perspectives in Asia“), to be held in a hybrid format (in person and online) at the University of Montréal on March 14, 2026.
Undergraduate and graduate students currently researching Asia-related topics are invited to submit proposals either individually or for a full panel. The colloquium’s focus is on Asia, and we suggest the following themes:
1. Geography and contemporary politics,
2. History, culture, and society,
3. Literature, philosophy, and spirituality.
This call for papers aims to involve students interested in issues related to Asia in a multidisciplinary space where they can share ideas with other enthusiasts. We accept proposals both in French and English, but encourage the use of French, if possible.
Please send your proposal to the following address: assocetase[at]gmail.com before February 10 at 11:59 p.m. EST in a Word or PDF file. It should contain a provisional title and should not be longer than 250 words. Please also include the following information: your email address, full name, program of study, and university.
The full schedule will be announced a week after the call for papers closes.
