Talk abstract
This seminar will present my ongoing research on the global shadow economy and its implications for border governance. I will discuss the ways grey governance and infrastructural politics at border checkpoints facilitate transnational mass smuggling by ordinary people. I will also share my experience in journal publication and editing during the seminar.
About the Speaker
Tak-Wing Ngo is Professor of Political Science at the University of Macau. He received his PhD from SOAS London and works on the political economy of East Asia. He previously taught at Leiden University and Erasmus University Rotterdam and is currently the editor of China Information and co-editor of the Journal of Contemporary Asia.
