The Department of Japanese Studies in the Faculty of Arts at CUHK offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and adopts an inter-disciplinary and comparative approach to the study of Japan.
Applicants should (i) have a doctoral degree; (ii) specialize in the study of Japan and be able to teach film, popular culture, and related subjects to undergraduate and MA students; and (iii) have native or near-native fluency in Chinese, Japanese and English. Native or near-native fluency in Cantonese will be advantageous.
Duties include (a) teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses; (b) serving as an academic advisor and counsellor to students; and (c) committee work and other administrative duties as assigned.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for two years, commencing in January 2027, renewable subject to performance, funding and mutual agreement.
