This ambitious study of coexisting standards in an international economic branch introduces pragmatic communication between German and Chinese businesses and regulators. The author Sabrina Weithmann gives detailed insights from the specific case of electricity-driven cars, motorcycles and practical details of the charging technology. Regulation targets the various parts of this technology, including battery chargers and plugs just as the electric current. Industrial labelling should meet criteria across vast regions and different economic branches within China. The author has designed images and charts to illustrate how labels aim to reach not only international or bilateral, but also national consensus (see chapters 6.4 and parts of 6.5). We learn about the nitty-gritty of socket outlet, vehicle inlet, and the cable connecting plug and vehicle. Four different standards cover just these parts of the same apparatus and address various safety issues…
